It's fall and time to cook like it

Chicken & Barely Soup

4 chicken breasts
½ cup barely
5 ½ cups chicken broth (made from chicken bullion)
3 stalk celery chopped
3 large carrots
2 chopped tomatoes
2 cloves garlic minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
½ teaspoon basil
A dash of oregano, thyme, cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons fresh parsley

Add everything but parsley and bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer 1 ¼ hour, remove chicken, cup up, and add to soup with parsley and serve.



Cream of Mushroom Soup


2 tablespoons granulated chicken bullion
1 ½ cubes butter
2 packages of mushrooms, chopped small
1 ½ cups flour
6 cups 1 % milk
1 pint of cream

Chop mushrooms very small, sauté mushrooms in butter & bullion until dark in color. Add flour slowly until all butter is absorbed. Cook until scorched, add milk and cream slowly, and serve.

Homemade Croutons

Take 4 pieces of thick white bread, brush with butter, sprinkle with parmesan cheese, put in broiler, repeat on both sides, cut in squares, and serve over soup.

For different variations of soup just replace mushrooms with broccoli, asparagus, or any vegetable.

My Mom is such an amazing cook, these are her recipes. I made the barely one last week and it was divine, perfectly healthy, just what I need lately. I hope someone uses them. I saw the other girls posting recipes and that is something I can relate to and ENJOY

I can't believe I forgot about my blog!

I really can't believe that I forgot about the blog, I am kind of buzy I guess with school,but not really cause I don't even do my homework. Anyway thanks to heid, I now know how to post a pic, this is going to be even more fun!

I am stressed, I have to teach a lesson on faith this sunday to the combined young women in my home ward. I'm excited except for the fact that I haven't prepared anything, I have class in an hour, plans tonight, and I will be gone all day saturday-scary...

I get to have a breakfast date with laur, I can't believe that I get to discuss---in person---wedding details...and I get to see the RING!!
I am excited about our 6 p.m. party on the 21st, at my house, and quote "yay for scandelous gifts!" fine by me, I am now offically the only one who know nothing about them.
